I knew the day would get warm so I tried to start early. It was 7:45 when I started (couldn’t make myself get up to drive 2 hours). It was still 28 degrees when I started which was nice. I barebooted til about .4 and decided for my snowshoes as I prefer them over spikes especially as I like my televators. The trail was a little post holy but with snowshoes and the firm temps I floated without making marks off trail which was not the case on the way down. I made good time and had been here a month ago so was a little concerned about some water spots in the engine hill whack as it usually becomes messy but it was solid all the way to the summit! I was in shortsleeves all the way up and down which was nice. Coming down it for sure softened up in the glades and the last mile and a half started to mess up for sure. I took my snowshoes off where I put them on and got out to almost 60 degrees in the car! What a day’ |
