Comments
Comments: Trail was in better shape than I thought, considering the Temps. It was mostly cloudy which helped. Bike trail is part pavement part ice. Beginning of the trail is mud/running water/ice- I expect it will be a lot wetter this weekend. Monorail is starting to form. Combo of bare boots, spikes and snowshoes. Snow was a bit soft esp going down , and there was some postholing; I would definitely bring snowshoes this wknd. Passed 2 kids going up at 2p without any traction, one in sneakers and shorts, who said they were from CT and "didn't think there'd be any snow." I told them they were going to encounter deep snow and steep sections with ice; hopefully when sneakers slides back down the steeper part of the trail they'll turn around. Happy spring folks!!
