A perfect day to hike in near-perfect conditions. Tuckerman Ravine is a spikes-only superhighway to Hermit Lake. After that, the rock steps are steep enought to be a bit difficult up to Lunch Rock. An axe might've been useful here, but spikes were sufficient. Conditions are changing; the first 100 to 200 yards down low had some softening snow.
I was only aiming to reach the headwall, which I saw over Hermit Lake, and from the steps to Lunch Rock |
