Comments
Comments: Did clockwise loop of Middle and South Carter from 19 Mile Brook parking lot and brief road walk on route 16. Put spikes on at the Camp Dodge gated/closed access road and switched to snowshoes for the duration about .75 miles into imp Trail. Conditions were firm due to freeze last night and it was in the 30's most of the day. I did not think the postholes were too bad and the snowshoes helped in gliding over or around them. Worse than the numerous blowdowns from North Carter trail to the Zeta pass area were the face smacking branches since snowpack is so high. Overall for April I thought conditions were great.
