 | Comments: |
Trail was mostly dry for about the first mile and a half, with traces of crusty snow here and there. No traction needed until just after the first significant water crossing near to the junction for Bald Peak. Microspikes were sufficient the entire rest of the way. Trail is mostly smooth going except for a few places where people had postholed during softer, warmer conditions prior to today. Those places have since firmed up and the entire trail is rock solid, and should hold for another day or two. Same for the ice bridges, but not much longer with the warm temps arriving this week. Beautiful day to be on these peaks. Bright sun, clear blue skies, a little windy in places, especially on the south summit, and just cold enough to keep it comfortable and consistent! Grab it while the grabbin's good! Happy Trails! |
