 | Comments: |
The trails had a wide, firm track for most of the route. Although the track was wide, stepping far from the center had consequences and there were many impressively deep postholes throughout. Some blown in areas between the peaks were postholed but weren't an issue at this time of year. Packed trail meanders and was unobvious in places on the ridge's open fir wave just below North Hancock. We carried snowshoes and crampons but stuck with sharp Hillsounds car-to-car without regret.
Fun hike with Chris in occasionally strong winds but with long views and beautiful light. Great to see and chat with Hiker Ed. |
