Trails have a good base but they're getting softer every day. I wore spikes up to a ways before summiting N.Twin and have to admit I put them on a bit too late. No postholes but I did chop up the trail quite a bit. Once properly snowshoed, all was good and there was a couple that went down N.Twin from Galehead and here's hoping they tidied things up.
There was a couple inches of fresh snow last night, all of which balled up on us badly, regardless of footwear. Gale River Loop Rd and the ski trail to Beaver Brook are mostly bare of snow, which is quite a surprise because I was there 5 days ago and both were covered in snow. |
