Comments
Comments: Well I started at 7:35 and it was 17 degrees. The trail was nice and solid with those temps. I barebooted until I hit the loop and decided to go for snowshoes as I wanted my televators and you would need traction for either side for sure. I went up hit the summit and then heading over to North the sun was hitting some areas that clearly from the days before of some post hole but thankfully not bad. I hit North and that was probably the most snow I have seen there yet! I had 360 views from just above the sign. I headed down North and was hoping for some butt sliding but it was still so frozen I would have ripped my pants for sure. Also soon about half way down the steeps people only used spikes or boots here and made it messy and ankle breaky on this part. I would have gone up this way if I knew this but oh well. I got back down to the loop to south and switched back to bareboots and saw 3 guys total coming up with no snowshoes on their packs and spikes on their feet. Hoping they got up to the ridge before it baked in the sun and made for deep holes. I had no issues over the water bridged and did not go through all the way back to the car. When I got to the car at 12 it was 46 degrees and I expect it to have stayed there for the rest of the day! Spring hiking at its finest.
