Lower elevation trails were hard. Microspikes were fine. I took the bushwack to the last river crossing. Morning was hard. But ok the way back in the afternoon. Myself as well as other hikers started to posthole thru. Didn't hit water. Wore spikes until just before the first view then put snowshoes on. Higher elevation had a crust but wasn't really packed and broke thru the crust. Wore snowshoes across the ridge. Switched back to spikes onve off the ridge. Amazing day. My favorite winter ( early spring) hike!! |
