Due to Irene, it is not possible to get to the normal Benton Trail parking lot. We parked at the closed gate on Tunnel Brook Road, which gave us about an extra 1.5-mile road walk on each end of the hike. Still not bad. Soon, the road won't be plowed, and that will make the hike another 3 miles longer. |

Just one water crossing on this route, immediately after entering the woods. Rock-hoppable with no ice. |

Trail in good shape! We cleared some clogged drainage on wet spots due to newly downed leaves. |

Great day out on a trail that hasn't seen any action since the snow last Wednesday. Should have worn our snowshoes more than we did, but we stayed in micropikes for most of the day. Windy on the summit, with great undercasts. Thanks to Sabrina, Mark, Terra and Pemi for great day out with us. |
