Comments
Comments: Great day out. (It almost never isn't.) Trail was packed and broken out, easy walking with spikes to the ladders. Ladders were buried and tough to get up and down in fresh soft snow. Snowshoes are helpful here. Trail was not broken out the last mile. Needed to do a bit of careful looking for the next blazes for a bit and then it became obvious again. The last .1 had a work around to avoid slick ice in the edge of the west facing cliff.
Usual birds out there (chickadees, nuthatches, pileated and hairy woodpeckers), but also winter wren is back in the mountains. Snow balled up underfoot as it soften in upper elevations on my way down.
