Terrifying Tuesday adventure up Beaver Brook with Neal. Experienced all of the seasons in one day. It’s still winter up high though campers, so let’s act accordingly. This trail is pretty beat up, post holes everywhere and very choppy. Neal and I both wore snowshoes door to door, more for the televators down low but there was plenty of fresh powder up high. The only other person we saw today was in spikes and post-holing up over his knees at times. Have no fear though when our new friend wasn’t post holing up high he was buttsledding down low…soooo yeah enjoy the luge.
First time up this trail in winter, above the shelter but below treeline it felt very much like the Carters. That’s not a compliment. At times tough to follow. We got poked, prodded, tugged at, dumped on, and just overall beat up.
Note that in the sidehills around Mt Blue there is a track that goes straight and isn’t the right path. I put some branches down to try and deter others. |
