The relocated portion of the trail at the bottom was icy on the ascent but had softened in the afternoon. Trails above that were well-packed but soft, particularly where drifted. We wore spikes up to the Bald Peak Spur intersection and snowshoes for the hike's duration. Most hikers were wearing snowshoes today but the few in spikes were doing OK, too, and chopping up the trail only a bit.
Another beautiful hike with Chris in comfortable, clear weather. Many fun, very experienced hikers out today creating a nice vibe. |
