Comments: 1860 Grand Traverse - Tecumseh to Dickey
Tecumseh Trail for ascent; Dickey Trail for descent
Me and @knobbiehikes started up Tecumseh Trail at the WV ski resort, following a perfect, smooth, snowy path to the junction of Sosman spur. On the way up we observed a likely Coast Guard helicoptor extraction or training on the Osceola summit. Wore spikes until Sosman but quickly had to donn snowshoes as the path had not seen much action recently.

At the WV communication tower we found the 'GT'logo and dove in. It was unbroken, but thankfully only a 3-4 inch crusty top-layer of snow to break through, with few drifts.

Easy path to follow toward Green Mtn; Snow was deep here, within feet of the register.

Next, we made our way to Foss without issue, through beautiful open woods. Similar conditions. The 360 degree view at Foss was stunning as usual; the sky was cloudy but the ceiling was high, so you could see Moose, Wash, Tris, Cardigan and beyond, in all directions.

The descent from Foss toward the camp was confusing at times as the smaller 1860 cairns were mostly buried in snow. Good news was that there was no ice on the scrambles; everything was covered in solid snow.

From the Foss camp we continued on toward Dickey without issue, losing the trail a handfull of times but quickly regaining the path.

Hit Dickey and threw spikes back on. Not a soul in sight.... Perfect.

Always wanted to try this in full-on snow conditions. It was a blast.
