Comments
Comments: Great hike to North and South Kinsman via Mt Kinsman Trail on Saturday. Blue skies and little wind. We arrived fairly late (9:30ish) and there were already seven cars in the lot. A nice trench was already broken out through the 6 - 8 inches that remained after the Tue/Wed storm. Snowshoes were the appropriate choice, there were a few folks out there today in spikes and even a few bare booters and some of them did some DEEP postholing so watch out for those. I suggest wearing your snowshoes even if it is hardpack just to prevent accidently stepping into one of those! The trail all in all is fantastic. The water crossings are iced over, the tough parts up top and between the two peaks were a piece of cake! Winter hiking is the best. This was a very enjoyable hike. There were a lot friendly folks out (we saw about 15 - 20 people) and few dogs as well.
