Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at Lincoln Woods today- only 3-4 cars not part of our group there upon our arrival, one or two cars left when we got back
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Wet/Sticky, Snow - Spring Snow
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All major crossings bridged, a few minor drainages open but easy enough to hop over
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Cleared about half a dozen leaners and/or low hangers on the proper trails... the bushwhacks are, well, bushwhacks! A couple of minor carwashy sections on Black Pond trail and Lincoln Brook trail, but nothing too exciting in the grand scheme of things. Up on the ridge between the "old summit" and "real summit" has some definite carwash going on, but that's also technically a bushwhack and not a real trail, so...
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one today, but he seemed to be having a great day in the woods with mom both times we saw him!
Bugs
Bugs: Saw some snow fleas, but they're no bother!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a soggy mitten at the closed bridge on Lincoln Woods trail- brought it back and left it at the visitor center on our way out.

Comments
Comments: A most wonderful day was had with Tom and friends today! Trail was well broken out and pretty well packed down- our whole group (7 of us total on the way in) barebooted all the way to the base of the Brutus bushwhack, where we all donned snowshoes for the ascent- televators FTW! On the return trip, most of the group returned their suffer slippers to storage positions at the base of Brutus, but a couple of us kept them on until we got back to Black Pond. The trail has a few random postholes here and there along the edges, but nothing catastrophic. A few drainages either never fully froze over this winter, or have already melted and are a bit slushy and/or muddy- but are still easily manageable at this point.
