Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to be out. Trails are in pretty good shape -- used microspikes most of the way. The section between Field and Willey was the least well-packed (lots of postholes along the edges of the packed middle), so snowshoes are probably still best in that section. Lots of great opportunities for sliding between Field and Willey, from Field down to Avalon, and from Avalon back to Crawford Notch! This loop took us just over 8 hours (would consider ourselves slow-moderate hikers).
