Comments
Comments: Lincoln for sunrise as an out-and-back on the Falling Waters Trail (I already have Lafayette for March). At least 25 people were in the parking lot, when I got there. I was always within earshot of other hikers, on the ascent, which is both spooky and reassuring (in the dark!).
The trail is excessively postholed but was well packed and firm this morning (noting that I was back in the parking lot by 930am so well before the sun was hitting the FW trail). Light traction was fine this morning but I would definitely recommend bringing snowshoes if you are planning on a day hike of this trail.
Franconia Ridge is bony with icy spots and even exposed rock. Light traction worked well for this.
Saw people that I know, met people that I know from IG, and had an awesome sunrise show. Great morning!!
