Some jerk left a broken butt sled sticking up out of the snow closer to the summit, so I brought that down and threw it away. |

Trail is firmly packed most of the way. I opted for snowshoes the whole way as did 3 of the other 4 people I saw today. I person was bare booting on her way out, but was holding microspikes in her hand. The warming temps were causing a bit of balling under my snowshoes on occasion, but not terrible. There’s enough snow after Surprise that you’re doing the car wash a little bit, so watch your eyes! The summit has a small area of bare rock. A gorgeous day with little wind and warm temps. |
