Up to the ridge, the trail is packed down pretty well, although one more thaw/freeze cycle wouldn't hurt. I wore snowshoes and others were in spikes. Either seemed fine today.
The ridge had been mostly packed down by snowmobile traffic, so the walking was easy here. This is a much better stretch in winter when the mud and erosion is completely covered!
The snowshoe track stopped at the summit. There's been no travel to the cliffs or down the south side of the mountain.
Bluebird day today. There was wind, but it was never uncomfortably cold with the bright sun and moderate temps. |
