A MAGNIFICENT day on what you old timers would remember being called "Pemigewasset Peak, South." There was one guy ahead of us, who has to be related to MattJim as his stride resembled more of moose than man - and he never stopped once. Our group of five rode the rough broke track to the summit of South before we caught him (and not for lack of trying) 12"+ of deep and steep pow to this point. A tough task even with it rough broke. Honey_Badger had a time constraint and I am still battling a upper respiratory issue that wont go away, so I opted to turn around here as I was just out for fun. Lots of traffic out today behind us and by some miracle, everyone had snow shoes on! There are still loads of snow bombs waiting to fall and the trail is soft, despite the traffic. It will be a bit before this firms up. I'd rather my legs be made to quiver from other types of activities, but I will take what I can get. |
