Payback day. Broke out Glencliff Trail to 4000' before turning back from fatigue. Only posting this to mention that even the descent was an effort from the heavy snow...until I came across a few people heading up, whereby the trail began to be an old fashioned, smooth, snowy sidewalk like it used to be regularly years ago ahead of the "microspikes abuse" more typical the last 15 years.
After passing another dozen or so friendly and upbeat people, it was a joyous experience to descend on the wonderful footing. Every hiker wore snow shoes on this route today, contributing to the lovely path. Bravo. |
