The trail was broken out all the way to the summit, but snowshoes were still the way to go since the trail was far from hard-packed; until the next thaw-freeze cycle, they’ll still be the way to go. Some minor postholing near the top.
Not a good view day today (although there were some occasional views from the summit and the Sosman Trail, as well as the steep mid-section of the Tecumseh Trail), but walking up and down through the dense forest on Tecumseh was majestic with all that fresh snow. Almost no wind either, so it was especially peaceful up there. Started this one late- shortly before 3:30 PM- but it was worth it! |
