Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Looking pretty good!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lincoln, our Golden/Bernese, happily plowed the steep unbroken upper section for you, he requests payment in the form of chicken or beef. Cedric the Aussie didn’t help much but his fluffy butt is a good compass.
Bugs
Bugs: Some little black jumping bugs on the snow got us intrigued But mostly bugged that we didn’t have time to summit.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost time in the soft snow. Found a great workout breaking trail and a reason to come back

Comments
Comments: Deep soft snow to start. Partly broken out to 2 miles. We continued breaking trail up the steeps to almost the 3 mile mark close to the crest of the ridge before we had to turn around. Appreciated our “high heels” AKA televators profusely during this time. Don’t bother without snowshoes, the snow is too deep. Would suggest Buttsledding the descent because going down in snowshoes would be a hot mess [careful, buttsledding on hiking trails can lead to major injuries]. Snow started sticking and packing down on our way out so the trail is probably looking good today.
