Comments
Comments: We barebooted the road and across the bridge (land owner asks for hikers to not wear spikes or snowshoes on the bridge). Then snowshoes up and back to the same spot. FWT is a very nice snowshoe path right now, but not firm enough for boot traffic. We crossed paths with two pairs of hikers all in snowshoes.

If you are not familiar with this approach, it is a more enjoyable than Zealand Rd. to Hale Brook Trail but it isn't any shorter. It's a 9.3mi trip from the parking lot. Years ago before the access issues it was considerably shorter than it is today.
