Comments: A snowshoers dream! What a surprise to find that 2 people broke out OB to pass and over to Down’s Brook. From there it was our turn and we ready with the shoes. Kate Sleeper had about 8” of fresh, fluffy powder and it was beautiful. From west sleeper we bushwhacked up to the Mt. tripyramid trail since we didn’t need to go over south and the snow was very slippery. Wasn’t sure how the slide would be so we skipped it. Tagged Midd & north tripyramid and then backtracked to Sabbaday to grab fool killer. The steeps on sabbaday were super slippery with the light, fluffy snow. Tagged fool killer and then made a beeline for the Mt. Tripyramid trail and came out about 1/4 mile north of the north summit. Tagged scaur (thank you to Suzanne & Tom for the lovely track) and headed down pine bend. Passed about 10 hikers on the tri’s and I could barely believe it but everyone was wearing snowshoes. Not a post hole to be found. Such a lovely treat. The trails are still soft so shoes will be best until the next thaw/freeze.
