Trails were in great condition! Bare booted to the Osseo junction and then put on snowshoes as it was getting less compacted, kept them on until I was back at the car. All trails had a couple inches of loose snow on top of a well packed base. Brutus was a bit slick on the way down with a decent amount of, mostly unintentional, butt sledding. Maybe switch to spikes/crampons for this section? Saw 9 others in total, 7 with snowshoes and 2 bare booters. The bare booters weren't doing too much damage, however, between the added traction, televators and maintaining trail conditions, snowshoes are definitely the best option. |
