Comments
Comments: Figured I would need the snowshoes somewhere, but nope lugged them as deadweight for 25+ miles straight on our overnight trip, ugh! Did the Bonds the previous day and it was perfect frozen granular conditions for most of the day before getting a little soft in places in the afternoon sun. My friend took out several blowdowns on the Guyot shelter spur and a couple on Twinway but still a lot left to cleanup. Minor drifting of 1-2" over the packed base on the ridge from Guyot to Twinway was the only section that wasn't packed down or frozen granular. Couple minor patches of ice on the scramble and a couple blowdowns in the col on North Twin Spur, down Twinway to the hut was surprisingly good with nice grippy snow and it not being a complete luge track for once. Pretty uneventful down to the river crossing on Gale River Trail, below here the snowpack is pretty much melted away with a decent amount of bare ground showing down to the road and increasing on the ski trail back to Beaver Brook parking area where theres little to no snowpack.
