An inbound hiker picked up a brown vest around 3/3.5 miles in and passed it off to me since I was heading out. I left it at the kiosk at the base. I hope it got reunited with its owner! |

Trail is in decent shape, well packed until the junction with the Valley Way tentsite spur. I put on snowshoes then for the added traction and televators although plenty were staying in spikes and managing ok. Above treeline I switched back to spikes as it was a mix of harder packed snow, ice, and rocks. Ice was pretty avoidable. The wind, however, was not so I called it a day after Madison :) |
