Comments
Comments: Lincoln Woods trail was solid, a bit icy and can be barebooted or spikes. There was 2 inches of new snow. Black Pond Trail is packed and spikes were fine, but snow is getting soft. We put on the snowshoes at Lincoln Brook trail. There were a lot of postholes. Kept the snowshoes on the rest of the day. Ran into about 11 hikers and most had on snowshoes so the trail was in much better shape on the way back. Snowshoes are a must on Brutus and Owls Head path. Lots of deep drifts on the ridge and some thigh deep postholes. Views through the trees were beautiful on the way to the summit. Happy to get this one done for winter!
