Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Came upon a nasty, long haired german shepherd, acting like he was going to go into attack mode. Chewed out the owner for bringing the ill-behaved mutt out on a public way unrestrained--the AH could have cared less, as expected (AHs have nasty dogs).

Comments
Comments: A beautiful, day in the woods, with blue sky, mild wind and temps in the 20s. The entire trail from parking lot to Isolation summit was a spikeable, well packed snowshoe track. I wore snowshoes for the entire hike (in packed snow I find them more efficient, and easier on my ankles and knees, than being unshoed), Rick D. used spikes for the first and last couple of miles, and snowshoes otherwise. Two solo hikers we ran into wore spikes the entire way, leaving no post holes, just a little chop. Both bushwhacks were well laid out, and the Isolation Express is a better "trail" than the "normal" Isolation Trail /Davis Path winter mess. This is the first time I've found the Iso Express broken out in winter--I love it, the whole hike is only 10.5 miles with it. Thanks to those who initially laid out the Isolation Express.
