| Comments: |
Clockwise loop to Whiteface and Passaconaway; only used the Walden Trail for the view spur to Passaconaway's north outlook. Good cover for snowshoes throughout (excluding the road section), with only transient patches of exposed rock and dirt. Microspikes would be fine most of the way up Blueberry Ledge Trail, and most of the way down Dicey's Mill Trail, but snowshoes were definitely preferred on the Rollins Trail, and for softer sections above ~3,500'. Had to pull myself up on a tree root to surmount one of the lower Whiteface ledges, but the other scrambles were no problem. Didn't see another soul until I was about 1/3 of the way back down to Ferncroft on Dicey's Mill.
