 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
This was a trail maintenance trip to survey the trail for issues needing attention. Several smaller leaners and pokers intruding into the trail were removed. The trail is clear of blowdowns. The trail, as well as the Bald Peak Spur, will have the blazing refreshed this season. Having extra time, I visited the summit. |

Wonderful winter hiking conditions. The trail up to about a half mile above the BP Spur was well packed down and only light traction was needed. I switched to snowshoes at that point to the KRT junction and to the summit as it was unconsolidated and snowshoes were needed to pack it down. Barebooters were doing a marvelous job rototilling those sections. It was about even as to the number of hikers wearing shoes or light traction. It was great meeting Hiker Ed, Ken and Snowy. |
