Quite the change from my last trip about 2 weeks ago. Snowshoes were the choice, spikes stayed in the pack today. Wore them start to finish. Saw quite a few others and almost all were wearing snowshoes. Bravo! Some booted until the loop trail. I prefer snowshoes to spikes with the softness of the snow currently, even if packed. I didn’t encounter much postholing on the ridge. Probably because a group of 5-6 with snowshoes that I passed on their way down smoothed out the trail before I got there. Thanks for that! |
