Bare boots are fine for the road walk. We wore snowshoes for the entire loop. Gorge Brook was mostly well packed and we saw some not using snowshoes (but carrying them). Above the view out to Carr Mountain is looser. Once on the ridge, snowshoes are recommended as there was much less traffic and more drifting. Carriage road was better consolidated by skiers. Snapper had seen much less traffic and snowshoes are recommended here, as well. We didn’t go out to South Peak and didn’t notice if it had been broken out. |
