Benjamin weeks trail/some of mount rose
The lower BWT had a set of bare boot tracks and a dog track. It’s ok for the dog to post hole but really human WEAR YOUR SNOWSHOES after a foot of snow! It’s dangerous for everyone and very inconsiderate because you don’t want to burden yourself with carrying the extra weight of snowshoes. Nobody wants to carry the extra weight, but that is what comes with hiking in the winter! After I smoothed out to the best of my ability of that trail-mount Rowe was a GORGEOUS wide snowy (soft snow) path…then I got to upper BWT, totally unbroken. Boy did I get my workout in! Once I go to the trail Junction, I thought about breaking out north spur, but decided to leave that trail for another day. Went back down and should’ve doubled back on lower BWT but decided to go the shorter way which I met up with barebooter tracks again. ??????? I saw one other hiker who had snowshoes on. Great day playing in the fluffy powder. I’m sure the conditions are different as we got rain on top of the snow and it warmed up a bit today. |
