Comments
Comments: Rick D. and I wore snowshoes round trip from the bridge to the summit of Hale (remember, no traction on the bridge per the owner's request). Minimal trail breaking was required from the car to the Fire Warden trail, but there was only a trace of a trench (but no signs of bare booting) on the Fire Warden trail, so we broke trail through 6-10" of new snow (which we did not find that light and fluffy, as some have reported) to the summit of Hale. There is now a good snowshoe track from the bridge to the summit of Hale, which hopefully will be of some use to hikers even after the new snow coming in tonight and tomorrow. Other than a solo hiker in snowshoes passing us on the snowmobile track, on his way to N. Twin, we saw no other hikers today. The gate to the snowmobile trail from the N. Twin rd to the bridge driveway was closed, but there was a packed snowmobile track on the N. Twin rd.
