Beautiful trails conditions today. Trail to Jackson was already broken this morning. Trail to Webster not broken. As some in our group were saying of the conditions today, "This is why I like winter hiking".
Perfect snowshoe conditions today. Trail still has loose powder on it and the one other person was saw was rototilling the trail up in his micro spikes. So the snow is still soft all the way from the road to the summit however most rocks are covered and most of the trail is now smooth. Even the summit cone was all snow right up to the trail sign. Unusual and enjoyable to have no wind on the summit and a nice view under the high clouds. |
