Lost and Found
Lost and Found:
Comments: I earned dessert today! Crawford Path is the normal sidewalk. fresh light powdery snow ranged from 3 inches down low, to maybe 6ish up high. 50/50 hikers in just traction vs. snow shoes. After coming out of the scrub and the last push to Ike's summit the snow depth is pretty thin. No views mid-morning. We opted to take the route less traveled and continued on the loop down to the junction with Edmands. A few spots of deep snow, but overall thin coverage. Once back in the scrub, we stopped to have a snack and looked at the unbroken trail and then 2 minutes later a group of 3 snowshoers materialized. Unfortunately after that we encountered a group of ten and I think only 2 of them were wearing snowshoes. It was a soft choppy mess on sidehill sections. We did our best to smooth it out, however there was a solitary barebooter behind us that caught up to us once we reached Mt. Clinton Rd. The road walk was nice and quiet until the very end when two snowmobilers passed us. A great day!
