Skookumchuck hadn’t seen any action lately and that’s exactly why we picked it. Wanted to avoid the Saturday crowds heading up OBP. 3-4” of fresh snow down low on skook and 6-8” higher up. FR was a mix of ice, packed powder and drifts. Wore spikes from Lincoln to haystack then back to shoes. How is is possible that the postholers got out there so quick? Unf*ckingbelievable. Haystack to flume had already seen it’s share of barebooters as did the lower couple of miles on osseo. Snowshoes are the best choice between haystack and LW and given the forecast, they may well be the best choice for the foreseeable future. |
