There were spring like conditions on owls head today. There was very little snow out there, especially on the bushwacks, so snowshoes weren't very useful. There are many sections of packed snow on lincoln brook, but then theres also significant sections of standing/running water. We either barebooted, or used microspikes (without postholing much). We took brutus bushwack, but it looked like there were a few tracks coming up from the slide. The brutus bushwack was pretty slippery and no traction device was quite right for it. |
