My snowshoes went for a ride today. The trail from top to bottom was solid (frozen ground or ice) and all snow was well consolidated. I used spikes all the way from bottom to top to bottom. No slipping on loose unconsolidated snow like a few days ago. Even a bare booter without spikes made it to the top with relative ease (although not recommended). A little less than an inch of new snow fell during the day which hid some of the icy spots. There are still a few spots with mud and running water, easily avoided. |
