Lincoln Woods trail had some hard ice, soft snow & frozen footsteps… Black Pond bushwack is easy enough to follow to Lincoln Brook trail.. we were suprised to see Brutus appeared to be unbroken, and we knew Trailslippah had been here within the last few weeks… the lil’ squirt and I set out with televators up.. the run out to the NE is easy enough to figure out, but the turn to the NNW took a bit more time.. slow going on the steeps but we got it done.. past Brutus rock was unconsolidated snow that had been booted by some that had come up via the slide… approaching the summit others were right behind us.. they confirmed that they followed our tracks up Brutus.. short break at the summit with Tom from NY, trail conditions report writer WanderingSoules, other gridders, SSWr’s, and friends.. nice talking to all! Quick descent..9 snowshoers on these trails today… if you need/want OH the time is ripe.. if the trails receive 3” of new snow these tracks will disappear since there are no sides to the trails due to the low snow amounts so far.. at this point of the winter the trails should look like someone took a snowblower thru 3’ of snow.. sadly, we wait |
