This low snow winter means minimal avy concern and a nice bootpack all the way from Appalachia to the Gulfside trail. Another set of tracks joined from Lowe's, so it's as easy as ever to get back to King Ravine for winter ascents. Good ice for a few swings, and then styrofoam neve for hundreds of feet up the gully. Descended Airline after summiting, that trail is in great shape for a microspike hike. Chamin Des Dames had a boot track, so that's been done too. |
