Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Our day almost ended here. There is a log just past the summer crossing, but we didn't feel comfortable using that. We spent about 45 minutes looking for a safe way to cross. Another group went further upriver & found the actual log to cross on. This route was not broken out. Water levels are high & moving fast.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Couple down at the end of Gale River Trail. Beaver Brook is a mess in a couple of spots.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a couple...river crossing is questionable. One did cross, sketchy to say the least.

Comments
Comments: See water crossing. Beautiful start, no wind perfect starting conditions. Everyone we saw was just in spikes. Bear booted until our 2nd small water crossing. North Twins is solid well packed trail, spikes are all we needed. Televators may have been helpful. This a tough climb no matter what the conditions are. Winds picked up about 1/3 of a mile from summit. Not terrible, views were great! Down to the saddle & snowshoes may have been the better choice for the climb up to South. Worst part the trail went over the hidden scrubs so we post holed. Lots of snow here. Winds were really blowing on top, didn't hang out long. Down to the hut & up Frost you could have used shoes but we had no problems. Warm at the hut, then headed down. If doing just North right now I would leave the shoes behind. If doing the whole route again I would bring snowshoes but we really had no issues. Many seen after the South summit. Just a great day with Rhonda & Erik!
