Comments
Comments: A MAGNIFICENT day in the forest was had. I earned the distinction today of being the 138th known person to complete the White Mountain Grid! Yahoo!!

Trail conditions all day where sublime, spikes car to car. It looks like someone went out yesterday in the rain and created many 2" slushy frozen divots but easy enough to walk opposite their gait. Frozen super highway. ZOOM ZOOM! One of the top winter summits of all time to date, absolutely ZERO wind (aside from my heavy panting) on the summit of Moose, warm, and undercast poking in now and then. We spent about an hour up there and never got cold. I apologize for having such a raucous party at the summit, a grand total of about thirty folks met me on the summit for the occasion - an incredible cross section of what you'd likely find at lunch at the State Psychiatric Ward. My people! I could hear hoots and hollers from treeline. The man, the myth, the legend, Hiker Ed was on the summit and bestowed me my patch. Absolutely unreal. I was told to hang back and wait while the trek pole arch formed. I'll admit I did shed a tear looking up at the summit with all those folks.
