Hiking Trail Conditions Report
Peaks
Peaks Bondcliff, Mt. Bond, West Bond, NH
Trails
Trails: Lincoln Woods Trail, Bondcliff Trail, West Bond Spur
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, January 11, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Less than 10 cars in the large, plowed lot on departure 7:15am and return 4pm. I don't remember the credit card reader being there last time I was there but it is appreciated. Always appreciate the heated restrooms...seems decadent!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 3 of significance...trickiest was 3 miles into the hike on the Lincoln Woods Trail. I switched to micros at that point and kept them on until the same spot on the return. The other crossings are fairly shallow and you could theoretically use submerged rocks as the crossings are the only reason you'd need micros all day. There is 1 about a mile down from Bondcliff summit that is bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Many blowdowns on LWT and up to Bondcliff as noted in previous reports. One was a crawl under, the rest were easy step overs or walk arounds.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None. Left mine at home due to mileage/temperature.

Comments
Comments: Conditions from recent posts prevail. Out/back from LW. Other than river crossings barebooting would be possible and preferable until ~3000' and between Bondcliff and Mt. Bond as there is a mix of thin snow and stretches of frozen gravel/mud/rocks. Last running water was at ~3200'. Any ice is easily avoidable. I went with hillsounds from mile ~3 (the first crossing) until back at the same point on the return due to not wanting to take off/on. An absolutely stunning day, not a breath of wind made today's Bondcliff summit my new favorite all time lunch spot. Saw 3 other hikers all day. Pics in link below.
