Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Maintained roads/trails all in good shape, but as expected, there are a number of old stepovers on Firewarden's Trail. The only real "excitement" is one fair sized spruce blowdown up near the top obscuring the entire trail, but it's an easy enough walkaround.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day in the woods- started out around 12F, rose to about freezing by the end of the day. Couple inches of fresh powder on the ground, but still pretty bony underneath that- wore spikes to about 3000ft elevation on the ascent, then switched to snowshoes in an effort to make a better trail for anyone following- looks like someone made the whole hike up/back without using snowshoes (before the most recent snowfall) and now there are a number of half-buried frozen postholes up higher to show for it... climbed to the summit with snowshoes, then kept them on for the descent until about 2500ft where it got so bony they were pointless- switched back to spikes the rest of the way.
