Perfect day and perfect trail conditions. 2 days of cold firmed up the trails. The most recent few inches of snow gave a perfect surface for the boots to grab. We hiked in and out with bare boots. Many hiked in microspikes which would give a better bite but were not needed. (My foot was sore and I wanted to avoid the extra pressure of the spikes) Trail conditions will change when the temps warm again this week but for now, it is good. Water crossings were easy but there is ice on top of some rocks so watch your rock selection. |
