Comments
Comments: It was snowing when we started out early in the morning. The trail conditions changed significantly as the elevation and day progressed. It was hard packed to muddy to a lot of running water to slush on the trail until we reached about 3800 ft and then it turned to 1-2 inches of new snow. Above the tree line it was icy on the rocks, snow elsewhere. We didn't use traction, because it was a short section of icy conditions (and it was very windy/too cold to stop and put them on). On the way down there was less running water on the trails, but it was a lot more alushy and muddy, especially in the mid sections. The bottom of the trail is easy going.
